The wedding season for 2013 is already getting underway now and one trend that’s emerging is the demand for creative and original alternatives to traditional Wedding Guest Books. Though we have dozens of gorgeous Wedding Guest Books, this year’s brides are on the lookout for new ways to celebrate the guests who helped to make the wedding day so special.
Envelope guest books are proving very popular as you still come away with a beautiful book of messages as a memento. Our first foray into guest book alternatives was this gorgeous ivory leather Wedding Wishes Book. It’s in the style of a photo album, filled with a generous chunk of thick cream card pages. Ask your guests to write their messages on a special Wedding Wish Card and pop it into a colourful little envelope. Each wedding wish is then preserved forever in an album to treasure.
We’re also getting requests for envelope guest books for big weddings, so we were pleased to come across these large, Ivory Heart Envelope Guest Books. Generous in size, these are brilliant for even the biggest weddings. Not only can you fit in nearly 500 of our mini-envelopes, but the black card pages are also perfect for displaying photos and souvenirs. What’s more, being post-bound, you can even add extra pages, either black or white, and build up a really superb memory book of all the special moments from the engagement to the wedding day and even the honeymoon. Add your favourite photo in the square or heart shaped frame on the cover and you have a guest book that is just so much more!
Another plus point for envelope guest books is that they are really versatile and just as suitable for the more intimate, simple wedding. Slip the coloured envelopes into a white linen guest book and you have a lovely keepsake of your guests’ wedding wishes.
Lots of 'crafty' brides are looking for ways to design their own guest books. A plain white linen book like this can be personalised with all sorts of trimmings to match the wedding theme. Ribbons, beads, gems, feathers, buttons, a personalised nameplate or embroidered embellishments are so versatile and, with a bit of imagination and clever fingers, some beautiful, totally unique designs emerge. Add a pretty signing pen and you have a lovely book that is completely personal.
Butterflies are again a popular choice for a decorative theme this year and another take on the wedding wish card is this string of white butterfly cards. Leave the cards on a table at the reception then ask your guests to write their wishes and hang them on the white satin string provided. It makes a super decoration, especially if you can thread it among trees in the venue’s grounds!
After the wedding, just pop them into a pretty box with your wedding mementos; this Butterfly Keepsake Box is ideal.
We couldn’t resist adding some new, really luxurious leather guest books with some exclusive features that set them apart from the high street offerings. 'Our Beautiful Day Guest Book' is covered in the finest ivory Italian leather with silver foil lettering. But inside it's not just an standard wedding guest book! This unique book features pages for guests to sign and leave special comments and messages but also includes a number of pages for the happy couple to fill in about themselves after the wedding, such as how they met, what they look forward to in the future and how special their wedding day was. We also put in some black card photo pages at the back for adding photos of the happy couple. The pages are removable, so you can take pages out to leave on tables for guests to sign or leave out pages you don't want.
Another exclusive design for this season is our 'You, Me And All Our Gorgeous Guests' Book. Crafted from smooth, bright white Italian vachetta leather, it's handbound by our master bookbinders. The book is then finely blocked in silver foil with the text 'You, Me And All Our Gorgeous Guests' in an elegant contemporary font and has a wedding photo album to match.
New for the 2013 wedding season too is our exclusive Leather and Linen range. In the 'Our Big Day' design, as well as a Guest Book, we have added a small and a large photo album and a wedding keepsake box, all covered in fresh, white linen and embellished with a beautiful leather panel, mounted on shimmering pearl card and finished with a sweet sparkling diamante heart. It's just beautiful for a silver-themed decor.
For something really differet, why not take a look at this exquisite heavy card Birdcage Card Holder/Post Box. It's a fabulous
place for dropping cards or wedding wishes in - a romantic post box! It also makes an
extraordinary centrepiece or display for flowers. It is packed flat and
simple to put together and a 'Mr & Mrs' banner is included for an
extra flourish.
This lovely, shabby chic style metal cage is another unusual way to collect small guest cards
With so many guest book alternatives to choose from, your wedding guest book can be as individual as you are as a couple. Whatever style of guest book you choose, not only is it a fantastic way to preserve the memory of exactly who shared your wedding day, but, in the years to come, the wishes, love and words of wisdom will bring many a smile as your marriage grows.
