Free Delivery To Isle Of Wight Addresses

Regular readers may know that our offices are located on the sunny Isle of Wight.

We know how difficult shopping can be on the island, with a very limited range of shops and most of them concentrated in the main town of Newport. Finding a gift can be a frustrating process, involving driving into town and negotiating the traffic blackspots (yes, we do get traffic jams on the Isle of Wight!).

But shopping on the island has just got a whole lot better - we have introduced free delivery to addresses on the Isle of Wight!
Whether you are ordering from the mainland or the island, you can select "Free Isle of Wight Delivery" at the checkout and your order will go straight to your island home via Royal Mail.

Choose from our fantastic range of gifts for all occasions: beautiful leather journals or diaries, wedding albums or guest books and fine gifts of jewellery, many exclusive to us and not to be found in any local or mainland shops.

The run up to a wedding can be a stressful time, with lots to buy and organise. Our free delivery makes it oh so easy to pick up everything you need, and have it delivered free of charge either at home or to your work address.

Pop over to the website and take a look at our latest additions.

Meet Alex - our new customer service advisor

If you call or email Oh So Cherished at any time you are likely to speak to Alex, who recently joined in our customer services team. We pride ourselves on providing superior customer service so we were delighted to welcome someone as experienced as Alex to the team.

Alex has spent the last three years at home bringing up her two small children, but was ready for a new challenge when she saw our vacancy! She had always worked in customer services before starting her family.

Her last position was at the Land Registry where she was, for 7 years, a registration executive dealing with all aspects of land registration and customer services. Before that she work for HMRC and English Heritage, so she is used to looking after all sorts of customer needs.

Alex says
"I am so thrilled to have joined the team at Oh So Cherished and am looking forward to making Oh So Cherished's great customer service even better!"

We are delighted to welcome Alex to the team!

We're moving again!

Yes, we're moving again! I can't believe it has been 4 years since we moved into just one converted farm unit deep in the countryside of the Isle of Wight! It looked so big back then, we wondered if we would ever fill it. Here is Sarah back in 2008 when we took on our converted cowshed!

But four years on we have expanded into 3 more adjacent units and even so our shelves are full to overflowing!

In the process of sorting out ready for the move, we came across these photos of Sarah's first "business premises" - that is, her spare bedroom! The infant product range was stored on just a few shelves back then. It is just 6 years since she took the plunge to branch out on her own, and from the New Year we will be in a 5000 sq foot warehouse with over 2500 products! In that period we've moved three times and sent out over 300,000 orders.

So after much searching and a few false starts we have finally found a new home, 'The Old Granary' in Sandy Lane, Newport.

Funnily enough, it is another former farm property in a rural location, this time a converted granary just outside the island's main town of Newport.

Originally farm buildings and a dairy occupied the site but now we have taken them on as warehousing and a large kitchen area, which has inspired some very exciting ideas for future developments. Our plan is to convert the kitchen area, which was the old dairy, to a beautiful destination gift book and stationery store with coffee shop, thus realising our long time ambition to have a retail outlet on the island.
The site is well situated for all our future plans, being just a mile and a half from Newport, yet we have again found a beautiful, peaceful location in the unspoilt countryside, with stunning views. It is just so much more "us" than the industrial estates we looked at!
But none of this would have been possible without our wonderful customers. So we would like say a big thank you all for all your support throughout our first six years and we hope you will continue to shop with us in the years to come. And hopefully we will finally get to meet some of you in person when our new shop opens! If you are living on the island or just on your holidays do pop in and say hello!

Watch this space for updates on our new move and when the shop opens you'll be the first to know!!

Expanding!

Well it's been a while since we posted properly as we have been so busy lately. We are in the process of expanding into the unit next door so we have one huge unit and a lot more space thank god. We were tripping over things so much as our stock has grown over the last year quite considerably so we couldn't move in our existing unit - we dread deliveries. We are nearly all finished now and we will have brand new offices in unit 2!! I'm very excited as I get my own office soon!!

Were Moving!!!!!

As we are growing (quickly!) We are soon to be moving into our lovely new studio, a pretty barn conversion. After months of searching for the OH SO perfect place we have finally found the ideal space within a farm complex with 6 other businesses. We are having to do lots of work before we can move in so we are all mucking in (it was previously a cow shed!). I shall be posting images soon of our progress. Our new address will be Unit 3 Dean Farm, Whitwell, Isle of Wight PO38 2AB.
